Christmas Lighting Up Night – 23rd November 2018

Join us in the High Street to switch on Bridgnorth’s Christmas lights on Friday 23rd November 2018 from 4pm – 9pm.

This traditional, family event will include stalls, food vendors, carol singing, live entertainment, reindeer and small children’s funfair.

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm on the main stage at Northgate where you can also see performances throughout the night.

Please note, we are now fully booked for stalls, caterers and performers.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic – 25th July 2018

The ever popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic returns to the Castle Grounds from 11am – 2pm on Wednesday 25th July. The family friendly puppet shows will entertain both children and adults alike with refreshments, children’s rides and face painting all available on site.

Don’t forget to bring your teddies along to join in the fun and enter the Best Dressed Teddy Competition, with prizes for all!

Alley Katz will be there with their very first pop-up shop, together with Marks and Spencers with their family favourites; Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar, and Bridgnorth Library where you can meet Bookstart Bear.

Entry is £1.00 for adults and 50p for children, making this one of the best value events of its type in the County! All proceeds go back into putting on fantastic community events in our town.

Armed Forces Day Flag Raising – 25th June

Like many towns Bridgnorth will be celebrating Armed Forces Day this year.  The national celebration will be taking place in Llandudno, North Wales.

Although Armed Forces Day is Saturday 30th June, this year Bridgnorth will be holding its flag raising ceremony on Monday 25th June which will commence at 10.30am in the Castle Grounds.

Everyone is welcome.

Please note there is a rolling road closure in place from 1.30pm on Saturday 23rd June which will include the following roads: Wenlock Road, Salop Street, Whitburn Street, High Street, West Castle Street, New Road, Underhill Street, St. John’s Street, Cann Hall Road right hand filter lane (towards St. John’s Street) and Mill Street.

Surrounding roads will experience delays and we appreciate your patience from 1.30pm until the floats arrive on Severn Park at around 3pm.

The ever popular Bridgnorth Sunday Handmade Market has now released its dates for 2018!

Find them under the Town Hall on the following dates to see a selection of local Artists, Crafters and Makers, Artisan Produce and Vintage Goods. As you can see, some of the markets coincide with other events taking place in the town to provide a fantastic atmosphere.

The Times They Are a-Changin’…. Bridgnorth Town Carnival 2018

Bridgnorth’s biggest free one day community event returns on Saturday 23rd June 2018 with a new start time!

Following an open meeting where residents and businesses were invited to have their say, it was agreed that the Carnival procession would now commence at 1.30pm instead of 12 noon. Severn Park will still play host to an array of entertainment, stalls and refreshments through until 10pm.

Applications are now closed for stalls and catering pitches at this year’s Christmas Lighting Up Night taking place on Friday 17th November from 4pm – 9pm in Bridgnorth High Street due to such a fantastic response!

In partnership with Shropshire Council, there will be FREE parking in the following long stay car parks from 2pm on Friday 17th November to support the Christmas Lighting Up Event:

Innage Lane
Smithfield Road
Severn Street
