A new Heir to the Throne? Carnival ‘Queen Mother’ Nominations await!

A brand new addition to this year’s Carnival due to popular demand!

This year, we are seeking nominations for Bridgnorth Town Carnival’s very first Carnival Queen Mother. This is an opportunity for you to nominate someone who has achieved something, overcome something or just because you think they are worthy of such a prestigious title! You can choose whether to tell the person that you are nominating them, or it can be a complete surprise….

The only catches are that they must be over 18 years old, and have a WV15 or WV16 postcode.

Closing date for applications is Friday 28th April and all entrants will be invited to attend a Crowning Ceremony in the Town Hall on Monday 22nd May during the evening.

Carnival Royalty Applications – Now Available

Would you like to become the next Bridgnorth Carnival Queen, Prince or Princess? Or do you know of someone who would?

We are now accepting applications for this year’s Carnival Royalty and application forms can be downloaded on the following link:

This year’s categories are as follows:

Carnival Queen (Secondary School – 11-16 year olds)
Junior Carnival Prince (Primary School – 8-11 year olds)
Junior Carnival Princess (Primary School – 8-11 year olds)
Infant Carnival Prince (Primary School – 4-7 year olds)
Infant Carnival Princess (Primary School – 4-7 year olds)

All applicants must have a WV15 or WV16 postcode or attend a school within the Bridgnorth town boundary.

On Carnival Day, our Carnival Royalty will have pride of place in our procession and will be asked to go on stage to make presentations to the winning procession entries alongside the Mayor. They will also be invited to take part in other functions throughout the year, such as the Christmas Lights turn on.

Carnival Royalty must be available from 10.30am on Saturday 24th June until around 4pm.

All entrants will be invited to the Carnival Crowning Ceremony taking place in the Town Hall taking place on Monday .

The closing date for applications is Friday 28th April 2017. Please remember to enclose a recent photograph with any applications.

Bridgnorth Town Carnival 2017!

You can now register your interest to take part in this year’s Bridgnorth Town Carnival; taking place on Saturday 24th June 2017.

As usual, the procession will leave at 12pm from Nock Deighton’s Livestock & Auction Centre before making its way through the town and onto Severn Park.

There are opportunities to join in the procession, have a stall on Severn Park, perform in the arena or on stage, provide an attraction at the event, volunteer on the day or sponsor the event.

As a free community event, we rely on the support of local organisations and businesses to provide a fun and enjoyable event which people return to each year. It is also a great opportunity to advertise your business or organisation as we receive thousands of visitors and provide promotional opportunities.

The closing date for applications for stalls, performers and attractions has now passed. We have a fantastic variety lined up for you throughout the day from 12 noon until 10pm.

Don’t forget our lineup for the day:

12 noon – Event opens on Severn Park and Procession commences from the Nock Deighton Livestock & Auction Centre

1.30pm – 1.45pm – Procession arrives on Severn Park followed by winners presentation

2pm – 5pm – Family Entertainment on stage and in the arena

5pm – 10pm – Live music

We are always looking for volunteers to help at the event; be it marshalling road closures, assisting with car parking or litter picking. Even an hour of your time would be much appreciated to ensure this fantastic event runs safely and smoothly. A Big Carnival Thank You

Wow! What a Carnival! The sun shone bright for the 2015 Bridgnorth Town Carnival which took place on Saturday 27th June and the town was packed full of people.

Our winning entries in the Best Float, Best Show Vehicle and Best Walking Entry were Lisa Beards’ Fitness, Bridgnorth WI and Cheer Force Ten, with our runners up Benham BMW & Oldbury Wells School, Tasley Toddlers and BurnAid.

 

Our Carnival Royalty took pride of place in the procession and met guests down on Severn Park, along with the Mayor and Mayoress.

There is still time to get your entry forms for a float, vehicle or walking entry in the Carnival Procession! Closing date is Friday 5th June.

The Carnival procession will commence from Nock Deighton’s Livestock and Auction Centre at 12 noon. Walking entries will join the procession from Westgate (previously Shropshire Council’s offices) and come through town down to Severn Park.

Bridgnorth Town Carnival is back for its third year and the search is on for a Carnival Queen, two Princes and two Princesses with the addition of a Carnival King for 2015.

Entrants will need to complete an application form and submit a photograph of themselves which is likely to be printed in the Bridgnorth Journal and on the Town Council website. The closing date for entries is 29 April 2015 and all entries, together with a photograph should be sent to Bridgnorth Town Council, College House, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, WV16 4EJ .

Bridgnorth Town Carnival 2014

Line the streets from the Livestock and Auction Centre in Tasley down to Severn Park to catch a glimpse of the return of the Bridgnorth Town Carnival!

This year promises to be bigger and better than last year with floats, entertainment and refreshments from 12 noon until around 9.30pm. Family entertainment will take place on stage and in the arena from 1pm once the floats have arrived followed by live music into the evening.
